the idea

A market that never closes makes stepping away feel expensive.

There is always another launch, another chart, another reason to stay. Participation can gradually become a permanent obligation to pay attention.

Crypto gives people extraordinary control over what they own. The time spent managing that ownership deserves the same consideration.

We believe people should be able to participate on their own terms, including the terms on which they step away.

That belief is the starting point for $minimal.

On October 31, 2026, Vitalik Buterin published Digital minimalism, describing a more deliberate relationship with digital technology: “making each use a conscious choice.”

For $minimal, this raises a practical design question: how much should a product ask of the people using it?

Many crypto products give users more things to monitor. More information to process. More decisions to revisit. Each addition may be useful on its own, while the combined demand on someone’s attention keeps growing.

We are taking a smaller approach.

A limited set of actions. Terms that are visible before a decision is made. Public records of where funds go. An interface that can be understood, used, and closed.

there is room in crypto for products people can care about without organizing their day around them. for communities where participation has different rhythms. for ownership that leaves space for the rest of life.

participation

off — lock
lock minimal for one, three or seven days to become eligible for a share of the eth funded into off. one address can have one position at a time. your reward weight is the amount locked multiplied by the selected period's weight.
on — withdraw
after expiry, withdraw all locked tokens and earned eth. under normal rules, early exit sends 10% of locked tokens to the dead address and returns earned rewards to the stream. emergency mode waives the penalty and retains earned rewards.
let go — burn and leave a word
send at least 1,000 minimal to the dead address and record a word in ethereum event history. this is irreversible. the interface accepts one word of up to 32 utf-8 bytes; words cannot be edited or removed from the event history.

fees & rewards

the token is intended to launch on stockereum with an eth pair and a fixed supply of one billion tokens. the 2% trading fee is split into a 1% platform share and a 1% creator share. the project commits the full creator share to off; this is a project commitment, not automatic routing enforced by the platform.

  1. stockereum credits creator fees as weth in its escrow. only the original token creator can claim them.
  2. the creator calls the escrow to claim directly into off. funds do not need to pass through a personal wallet.
  3. anyone can call fundWeth() to unwrap received weth and add the eth to the reward stream.
  4. off releases funded eth gradually to positions in proportion to their reward weight. rewards depend on actual funding; no return is fixed or guaranteed.

new funding merges with the remaining stream using a value-weighted duration. the stream clock pauses while total reward weight is zero. new funding uses a 24-hour stream duration; it is not a fixed daily payout promise.

the app shows unclaimed creator fees, cumulative eth funded, the last funding time, locked tokens and tokens sent to the dead address. funding history links individual transfers to the explorer. view public records or read stockereum's fee rules ↗.

parameters & expiry

configured lock periods
periodweightwithdrawal at expiry
1 day1×all tokens + earned eth
3 days1.5×all tokens + earned eth
7 days2×all tokens + earned eth

weights are relative shares, not interest rates. locking for seven days gives twice the weight per token of a one-day position while it remains eligible.

expiry makes withdrawal penalty-free. it does not automatically checkpoint the position. anyone can call poke(address) to set an expired position's reward weight to zero; accrual stops when that transaction is processed. already-accrued rewards remain claimable through on(). exit and lock again to create a new position.

if an eth payout cannot be delivered to a recipient, it becomes a withdrawable credit. the holder can use withdrawCredit(to), available as withdraw in the terminal, to choose a receiving address.

permissions & risks

off and let go are deployed before token creation. the off administrator binds a qualifying stockereum token once; let go reads the same token from off. deposits, funding and burns are unavailable before binding. a bound token cannot be replaced.

the administrator can pause new off deposits, pause let go, activate one-way emergency mode, and transfer or renounce administrative roles. these powers do not include withdrawing users' principal or reward eth, changing configured periods or weights, upgrading the contracts, or disabling users' withdrawals.

emergency mode permanently stops deposits and new funding. users can withdraw without an early penalty and retain earned rewards. if every position exits with eth still queued, that remaining eth is stranded: there is no administrator recovery function. creator fees must not be claimed into off after emergency mode because new weth funding can no longer be unwrapped there.

fee collection still depends on the original token creator. transferring the protocol's admin role does not transfer that platform role. bugs or compromise in the platform's escrow or hook can affect unclaimed fees. immutable contracts can still contain bugs, and a locked position remains exposed to the token's market price.

the app cannot determine whether a participant has left their screen. off locks tokens; it does not measure time spent offline. local testing and automated checks are not an independent security audit.
